Ultrawide vs Triple Screen

A 49-inch super ultrawide and three 32-inch panels are not the same purchase. One number is pixels across, another is how wide the glass is, and a third is the field of view once the triples are folded.

How the number is made

Each width comes from its diagonal and aspect. Triple pixel count is three times the per-screen horizontal resolution. Triple FOV uses the same fold as the angle calculator with a zero bezel. The winner code is 1 when triples lead on both pixels and FOV, 0 when the ultrawide leads on both, and 2 when they split.

Flat triple width is three times one panel, which is the glass you buy, not the chord of the folded rig. FOV uses the folded geometry. Distance is shared so the comparison is fair. If those folded triples would pass behind your eyes, the comparison is refused.

Bezels are a separate choice

This comparison folds the triples with no bezel gap so the FOV is the geometric maximum. Add the real gap in the angle calculator before you order arms.

Questions

Does a higher pixel ratio mean a wider view?

No. Pixels and FOV are separate outputs. A dense ultrawide can lose on FOV and still win on pixels, which is code 2.

Why is triple width three times one screen?

That is the glass. The folded rig is narrower in a straight line. The FOV output is the one that knows about the fold.

Are the triples always 16:9?

Yes in this comparison. The ultrawide can be 21:9 or 32:9.
